Genetically Modified Crops and Foods - Ecosystems Project, Spring 2025

Genetically modified (GM) crops and food crops have been available for over 20 years, yet controversy still remains regarding their use. Those touting GM crops point to easy and quick ways to improve crops, while many remain skeptical of their actual benefits and worry about unforeseen environmental and/or negative health consequences.

You will be exploring several facets of the GM foods controversy over the course of this spring semester. There will be five assignments related to GM foods for a project total of 100 points. The assignments will be spaced out over the semester, graded, returned and maintained as a portfolio.
