Welcome to the HIS 472: Latin American History Guide

Course Objectives

This course is a thematic overview of major episodes, issues, and debates in Latin American history. This course has three key objectives:

1)     to introduce students to the major themes and events in Latin American history 

2)     to foster critical thinking and reading skills 

3)     to enhance research and writing skills through the development and composition of

        a 10-13 page research paper
